Kim Jung-ah studied western painting at Seoul National University and majored in engraving at the graduate school of the same university. She has participated in works for the public good, such as domestic violence and women's rights. She is currently teaching art history at Geoje University. Since 2011, she has been an art director of Our Sea of East Asia Network, where she has been working to publicize the seriousness of marine litter problem.
